Just an aside:

A bit of history:  The British saved France by fighting the Germans in 1939, all through 1940 and through 49 weeks of 1941 before the US got in to the war.  By then the Russians were drawing a huge part of German resources.  The end was still going to be difficult and long if the US stayed out and just sold munitions and crops for cash, but the Germans did not have enough resources to win in the long run.  The Americans certainly shortened the war in Europe.

By the end of the war Canada had the third largest navy in the world.  Mostly escorts for the North Atlantic convoys, a dark and dangerous bit of water to sail in 200 foot corvettes.

As for who saved whom, there is a very good case to make that without the staunch aid of France during the American Revolution, the US might not even exist now.  France has always been a good friend to the US.  And what are friends for if they can't say their friend is about to do something really stupid.

OH  by the way I can't figure out what your post  means that begins with:

Ohhh, from the "heteroclitic" to the homo-phallic in one feigned swoop!

Could you please use short words and fewer allusions and metaphors to eplain it all to me?

Not sure if I want to drag this one out, but I suppose these are big questions! It sounds rather like both US and Russia were waiting for main protagonists to destroy each other before reaping spoils? Perhaps, if Germany had gone for Russia first (with vast amounts of resources?) they might have pulled it off? Maybe that's what they were up to invading Poland.

Hmmm....mull, ponder, think, muse....

No kidding.  I lost sight of everything in the whirlpool long ago.  Let's go start a new happier thread.  Life is for grins.

Please explain how the Italians and the Japanese were involved in liberating Europe from the clutches of the Nazis

I was making an attempt to make a comprehensive list:

The declaration of war in 1939 came about during the simultaneous invasion of Poland by the USSR and Germany.  Technically at that time the USSR was one of the enemy to the powers allied to assure the independance of Poland..  But when Hitler decided to invade the USSR in 1940, the allies came together to support 'the enemy of my enemy' and the USSR declared war obviously on Germany at that time.  In December 1941, aftert the Germans had been fought to a standstill and the Japanese struck at Pearl Harbour, the US became a belligerent in europe as well.  By far the biggest individual one.  At the very end there were some Italian and some French as well as forces from other formerly overrun territories fighting on the allied side.

And I suppose indirectly the Japanese helped boost the Nazis out by attacking at Pearl Harbour.  Without that the Americans may have dithered on for years.  Selling, but not taking part.

I think MrPicMe has totally missed the point and purpose of this site...for women to express themselves in the way that this site affords them, and for the "audience" to enjoy thier offerings. Or could it be that , as a skilled photographer, he felt the urge to flex his 'photographic muscle', so to speak?  This isn't Crush.com. It's ISM. Be cool and enjoy the folios and vids that suit your fancy.
As for the ongoing debate between Voyeur and MrPicMe...I have been enjoying it. It adds a bit of color to the forums. (evil grin)  Hurry back, Voyuer!

Thanks for the post, and I'm glad at least one person is entertained.(I guess if you want to include me, that makes 2)

-I respect your opinion that you feel I am missing the point.(Even at times I've asked myself that very question...

WHAT IS THE POINT?

...I won't restate what I feel "the point" may be, but I will re-emphasize the importance of "going for the gold!" "Be the BEST  you can be". Take more time, thought, and PASSION  in your shoot. If you're planning to just go into your bedroom, laying down on your bed and taking 30 gratuitous pictures of your vagina with no more thought to lighting than the built in flash, then don't waste your, and our time.

Furthurmore, I'm not suggesting that you stiffle your artistic flair with being burdened down with camera knobs either, but PLEASE GIVE IT AT LEAST 24 HOURS THOUGHT  before embarking on your journey. We know you want to look your best in your shoot, why not try to get closer to your goal with a little more thought and effort. LIKE LOVE, THE PAYOFF IN THE END WILL BE MORE THAN EFFORTS PUT IN.

An expanded copy of a reply to my voluminous private message file.

hanks for the comment, its nice to get positive feedback.

As for continuing the 'debate' its more like shooting fish in a barrel. And it lowers me to his level to do so.

In my responses to MPM I am really about maintaining a certain level of respect to the contributors and recognising without saying it out loud that some people have far less ability to do 'art' than others.

It should not be an excuse to belittle their efforts. The fear level is the same, the risk is the same, and the achievement may be even higher if they themselves suspect their abilities are merely ordinary.

Based on his verbal garbage and obvious willingness to shoot his mouth off in public without checking facts I think MPM's mind is a sewer and dont care to associate with it in any way. Even to give it the effort of refuting unless pushed by egregious affront to others.

hmmmm

diatribe level V2 Be careful :

As to the point I think its really simple.  Young women have the opportunity to shoot themselves.  We get to see what they shoot.  It aint an art contest, its a self expression forum in pictures.  Its watching a visual record of people exposing 'forbidden' aspects of themselves.  Its about courage, developing inner confidence in a world that judges by physical appearance all too often.

I like the show, and I have deep respect and some envious admiration for their efforts, and its all Head's fault for making it available.

Thanks Head.

quite.

MPM,
a suggetsion? MPM, maybe it's time you hosted your own site. you could set up parameters as you stated so eloquently in your last post and have girls stick to those guidelines for their shoots.

BUT: ISM clearly states in their Paradigm that this is woomen shooting themselves on their own terms. "on their own terms". i think that if you sense any animosity from the board posters, it's because you want to pose your own sense of guidelines onto an already stated Paradigm that predates your subscription? just a theory.

see, i'm a Libra, and so am forced, cosmologically, to need to bring both sides of an arguement into balance.

a suggestion? i'm running Mac osX Panther. i'm able to color-code the folios based on their content. maybe you could devise a similar scenario so that you will only archive and peruse folios that are to your satisfaction. and there are PLENTY of those here... certainly enough for a lifetime's worth of cyberpleasuring.

cheers,
Scott

Oh, God, I didn't want to involve myself in this any further, but I have to add one more thing - it seems to me that, above and beyond Scott's observation above (a desire to impose a so-called "artistic standard"), MPM is really looking to impose a beauty/appearance standard.  MPM's derogatory remarks about many of the contributors have been simply insulting, and then it seems he tried to gloss this over with so much talk about the artistic merit of the photos.  What I have heard all along, droning and droning, was not, "The artistic quality of your photos is not up to my standards" but rather, "Your physical appearance is not up to my standards."

That's where I have to call bullshit on this one - it's become convoluted into a discussion of standards of artistic merit and photographic quality, when what started it all was just a lack of common decency and respect.

So...yeah.
