"I took myself into the wilderness. The depth of my heart. The dark, fecund places where the mystery arises. I feel safest when with silence. Feeling the air, breath, sounds of animals. The energy of plants. I needed to get out of the city where I usually live. It is chaos. Constant sounds and distraction. Knowing that you would be feeling with me across time and space. So I drove for an hour to my friend's place and braved the cold to take these pieces of myself outside with the trees, the raven, cockatoo, kookaburras as my witness. A duck flew overhead. There were dogs barking in the distance. At one point I heard a stick crack and thought it was someone stumbling over my naked shoot. Then a thudding sound. Turned out it was a mob of kangaroos."
