ARTISTS STATEMENT

The main reason I did ISM is because I feel that nudity is much more taboo than it should be, when really our bodies are something we should be celebrating. Coming from a fairly liberal upbringing, I was very comfortable being naked and seeing others naked. I miss that a lot, even among my closest friends now, there is certainly a little sense of discretion. You can feel it. I find I Shot Myself a very respectable and comfortable project, and taking the photographs was actually very therapeutic and liberating.
