I love when the sand is packed firm enough to walk on without making a footprint. Sunset Sally makes great use of the visual appeal of its pristine surface – and that of her own body as well. She’s a beach bunny of the highest order and she’s right at home in her debut.

The image of soft flesh pressed against rough, jagged stone is one that activates our fantasies and gets us thinking in textures. And we have to say, whatever Beauti did to get that shiner, it fits into the visual perfectly, and reminds us that what we’re dealing with here, first and foremost, is humans.

Here’s a portrait of her making her portrait, which is a pretty cool thing to see, especially since whoever ends up with that painting on their loungeroom wall won’t have nearly as much behind-the-scenes info as we do.

Rowen turns the overall temperature of her folios from an almost-unbearable 37 degrees to the temperature of a Sunday spent in a warm room with a chilly wind outside. You don’t even need the heater when you’ve got your own personal ball of warmth to roll around with.

There seems to be a touch of the winter blues happening in this folio, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of – a vitamin D deficiency is bound to make things a little drab. But that doesn’t stop her from making some warm images, and by the end, I think she might even be smiling a little.

Impala faced the same trial that many ISM artists face, which is that confrontational moment when you have to decide exactly how you and the camera are going to relate. Like any first date, it’s always a little awkward at first, but once Impala started steering the conversation, things got very casual, very quickly.
