New Releases

It’s probably safe to say that most people feel at least a little bit funny about being photographed by another person – there’s something about interacting with so many different eyes that can be more than intimidating. Adelaide responded to this the best way she knew how, and she looks quite pleased to be interacting only with herself.
Jan 25, 2010 orson//"bijou"
After her rather grand and sparkly debut, Orson takes the drama down a notch, but there’s still that intensity in her gaze that makes it hard to spend less than a full minute staring back at it. It’s as though her beauty and her fierceness are constantly neck-and-neck as her defining characteristic.
I wonder how many ISM artists are truly, like lilbrownfox, exploring nude self-portraiture for the very first time. In the digital age there’s pretty much nothing stopping you from indulging in a little bit of photographic narcissism, and you can even destroy the evidence! It’s cool to see a first-time experiment, and we think this one went particularly well.
Every girl has the right to be a pillow queen once and again, and we’ve heard a few stories of ladies who get to be one all the time. Shara C doesn’t wait around for someone to treat her like the princess she obviously is – she just does it herself.
Fuelled by our inconsummate desires, Slitrin conditionally consented to the showing of this ceremony and it's part 2. Feverish, and with shaky soaking sweaty hands we will leave it up to you, ISM-ers, to judge your own capacity for further initiation into the untempered self-consciousness of Slitrin and her craft.
Jan 23, 2010 breez//"evanescent"
Maybe it’s just the word-association playing with our interpretations, but Breez’s debut really does have a light, airy, ephemeral quality to it that really fits her moniker. The delicate frame she inhabits is held so incidentally in frame, ready to pass out of its borders at any moment.
Backed into a closet as she may be, Jasmine_Z is not one to hide anything for long. In fact, exhibiting herself is one of her favourite activities, and the expressions on her face suggest that she’s no stranger to returning the gaze of those who take the pleasure of enjoying her.
To call this folio ‘edgy’ would be to understate both its visual and thematic qualities. Leave it to the Eastern Europeans, though, to up the weird factor in pretty much any artistic endeavour. It’s not terribly often that such grating environs are flattering to one’s appearance, but Nawar_hai seems to be untouchable by even the most garish of surrounds.
Consider this the 'adult' campaign for dental health. It's easy to make brushing your teeth appealing to kids, but the smiley cartoons aren't quite as effective for the older generations, who can sometimes require even more convincing. And if DayDrum can't do it, there may be no hope.
Jan 21, 2010 tit'lit//"vendange"
The sweep of the rolling hills in which this folio is situated draws perfect visual parallels with Tit’lit’s contoured bodyscape. There’s a dramatic elegance to the images here, one that carries a most cinematic context – each still looks a little more like the poster of a film for which we’d certainly be attending the premiere.
Jan 21, 2010 lydia_l//"sunburst"
Lydia L has truly mastered the beauty of simplicity, getting more and more pared-back in her approach to her work as time goes on. Today she and the sun are engaged in a tango of sorts, twirling around one another with a rather flirtatious tone.
After 'virago', there is nothing this woman can do that we wouldn't be fascinated by. We can't help but approach this video with a bit of caution; the prospect of viewing the other moments that take place between clicks of the shutter is a little overwhelming. Knowing what happens there peels back another layer of the mind of the artist, and with someone so deeply engaged with her craft, each layer is more dense than the one before.
Jan 20, 2010 bria//"jade"
An emerald glow is cast over this set, one that really pairs well with Bria’s generally golden aura. If, as she says, every moment that passes truly is the prime of her life, we really hope she’s documenting each of them so that we can always see her at her best.
Consider this a crash course in Melbourne weather. In a single shoot, the skies go from happy blue to gloomy grey, and then back to golden perfection just before the sun sets. The ultimate tease – that is, next to Mz_tress, who’s got the whole ‘just out of your reach’ look down to a science.
The Pink Menace returns to our pages, thank goodness. This time she’s lightening up the bush with a bit of her bleached-out powder-fresh delightfulness, and she shines like a fluro vest against the more subdued hues of her surrounds. She still retains that patented punch that shone through her Art Prize-winning debut.
