Porcelain dolls normally creep us out, perhaps because they are lacking the vitality that should accompany such flushed cheeks. Naledi breathes some life into that particular aesthetic, and we’re hoping that our subsconscious minds will transform our usual porcelain doll nightmares into beautiful, sexy dreams.

It is our hope that her particular type of pride doesn’t get her into too much trouble with Denmark’s Department of Foreign Affairs, and really, it shouldn’t – if anything will make you think, ‘Guds hjælp, Folkets kærlighed, Danmarks styrke’, it’s this.

There is so much classic imagery here that it’s just as easy to imagine it having been made in the 1950s – our eyes are automatically trying to place a black-and-white filter over the set. But Mabella’s sort of beauty is just timeless, and would have worked just as well then as it does now.

We love the cross-dimensional experience Evadstructn has created in her latest work. Planes everywhere, some curved, some linear, mingling together in the necessary confluence that occurs with a body occupying space. With a shape like hers, though, we can’t help but think geometrically.

There’s no question which grape she’d be if Baileigh were to be burst open and aged to perfection (not that she’s not perfect already). Sweet but not saccarine and a honeyed blonde, voluminous and fresh, a slightly pink hue right at her skin’s surface. Far too exquisite to keep bottled up.
