"Life Lesson #669: If you're going to shoot yourself nude, make sure it’s not autumn... it’s freezing! I shot on the day we were having a huge party at the share house I live in so I had to close off the backyard for a couple hours, which made my housemates quite curious. In keeping with the party theme, I decided to warm up a bit first by throwing myself a little tea party..."
"I shot this portfolio in my new apartment in the Dallas, Texas area. I had a very stressful day just the previous day, and wanted to relax through painting my apartment walls and photographing myself. It's such a stress reliever to produce art and focus on such technical painting."
"Funnily enough, my grandmother actually gave that figure to me. I love white against my skin. I was just walking past and I decided to get naked and do my shoot with the little dog. He kind of looks like he's just watching the show. Just having more confidence this time around was probably a highlight. I didn't have sex straight afterwards this time. I got on a train and went straight to my grandparents. Apparently nothing shocks my Nanna anymore, but I think this might."

"For my folio, I decided to do a bit of public nudity around my neck of the woods. It was really exciting but a bit embarrassing too since I was fully starkers in the street while many people passed by. Most people just looked away, but one lady just stopped and stared at me. Needless to say, I got out of there quick smart! I liked how the camera made me look when shooting outside. I also love my fanny and loved photographing it!"
A golden autumn day sets off Gizelle Z's tawny beauty to perfection. Using her bag of photographer's tricks, Gizelle picks, chooses, and documents the things she likes best about herself, sending them across the world to share with us. As the spring flowers grow around our feet, we watch the leaves fall down around Gizelle Z, wondering at the simplicity of our modern magics.

"I’ve been thinking about doing a photo shoot with balloons for a while. I really hope you’ll appreciate the result as much as I enjoyed shooting it. I loved the idea of filling my place up with them. I think they are synonymous with joy and good moments. They’re still floating around, spreading their beautiful colours, while I’m writing these words..."

"I quite liked the idea of getting caught actually - I was quite turned on by taking naked pictures of myself. I wasn't sure how I would feel, I thought I might feel dirty or ashamed but I just felt sexy and turned on. I felt bad for anyone who might have seen me! There's too many people out there that stereotype and jump to conclusions."
"As I ponder about my whereabouts, the naughtiness of being in the house excited me... using my housemates personal items as props, and squeezing in places I wondered if I would ever fit. Being upside down seemed the best option to me so why not do it naked? As I surround myself with colours, you will see the colours of my bruises that lie on my skin, nasty bike accident, ouch!"

"I tried to imagine myself as another person as it made me feel more comfortable to inhibit a persona in my mind. I assumed the character of a showgirl whose husband had just left for war, so the use of the mirrors showed both her insecurity and her vanity."
"I like to take risks for photos. I'm really a scared person - always afraid of hurting myself - scared of bugs - but I got used to nature and I liked it. I even hurt myself and it was worth it. Embrace peace love and nudity - not fighting." - Emily Ray

"That old bike had gathered rust and sat dormant, unused for years - what better time to straddle history. Its old, spoked, sharp edges and jagged metal pressed sharp against my vulnerable skin - if there was ever a time to get a tetanus shot, this was it. Having my skin wrapped around the old seat felt like embracing an old, long lost friend - wouldn't necessarily say I wanted to take a ride around the block in my birthday suit though!"

"It was interesting watching and becoming aware of my own ideas and state of being as the shoot progressed over the two hours I spent in my garden. It became more fun and enjoyable as it went on. I found myself fading away from original concepts, ideas and expectations about how I wanted it to look. My shoot ended up being completely present with myself, my body, the mannequin, the grass and the day."
"I felt I could capture a different side of my naked self. It's a definite cheeky side - it felt exhilarating to be able to stand in the backyard naked, posed up against a brick wall or among the flowers. The rush and the tingly feelings from the earth and plants were great on my body. The biggest turn-on was the thought of getting caught by my neighbours, watching."
We've been enjoying such witty and well-shot ISM videos lately. Cali's sweet energy is intoxicating, her personality coming through in such force that we feel like we must have met before, sharing laughs as we attempt to swivel our hips and sheltering from the rain together. Magical realism tends to have just this effect, rendering viewers starry-eyed and happy, just like Cali.
