"When I first heard about the opportunity to do I Shot Myself, the first setting that sprung to mind was the pool in my backyard. Seeing a woman's glistening soft skin in the sunlight has always had a really beautiful look. It shows a regular day tanning by the pool from start to finish. Getting undressed layer by layer, being scared of the cold water, and then diving right in butt naked; it doesn't always happen this way but it's a lot more fun."

"This isn't the shoot I originally planned! I took a few cheeky snaps before going on holiday to the tropics. I aspired to shoot in the wonderful lush rainforest with big trees and dirt and bugs, but family got in the way. I chose to shoot in the safety of my backyard where only my cat could spy me. I hope you find them to be beautiful, creative and colourful."

"Pay attention, girls, women, and ladies - you can be beautiful at any age! Adventurous, delicate, imaginative, special... I felt a lot of potential in me during this day, the sun shining down and my body feeling so natural outside all day in the gum forest. I really did feel like a fairy that day, with nothing to do but be beautiful and flit around from photo to photo. Just being me."

"I rarely take pictures of myself, let alone nude, so I didn't know how I'd feel doing the shoot. My best friend is a real exhibitionist and always encourages me to live up to this Dr. Seuss quote, so I decided to keep it simple and playful by stamping this all over my body. I loved the dappled light effects on my body through the front window, and the sensation of the bark against my bare flesh. Rolling around in the grass felt so natural and I felt fantastic after the shoot."

"I was getting naked with my best friend, sometimes I'm a little too comfortable around her. As I sat on the steaming train tracks, I felt sexy in a different sort of way... seeing my pussy squatting over the mirror as I hid around the corner from the public was definitely a turn on. Sometimes I just can't help myself."

Manko's stillness in the sea of activity produced by the artists studying her is somehow more dynamic than any wild movements of dance, play, or work. As she describes the suffering of immobility, and the sweet vulnerability of willingly becoming an object, we experience too how the intensely personal intersects with that total disassociation of woman from body, process from product, and the final and complete wholeness of it all.

"My folio theme was 'getting ready'. I send this folio to you, iShotMyself, with a big 'cheers'! My friend found this shot glass and thought it was a funny gift because I told him I wanted to send naked pictures to Australia. We laughed and I promised to show him the pictures when I was done. Well I did show him and he liked very much... so we had a good time together after all.. a really good time. I'll drink to that! Will you?"

"I shot this at the start of winter but I was really lucky to get the last warm day of autumn with beautiful sunshine. A skywriter came overhead and wrote "Marry me!" so I txt'd a picture for my fiance Mishka, who was far away that day. She tried to take the credit for it!"
