"Being naked makes you vulnerable. It can express your sexuality and show your raw natural beauty. As a woman I think it's important to feel safe while expressing yourself in this way which is why I did it in my bedroom. The bedroom can be a sensual place but my bedroom has always been my safe haven where I can be and do whatever I want without interruption."

"I don't usually take my selfies being nude, but it was nice experiencing something different. I enjoyed my body and the way I looked when I saw my selfies, but I wasn't totally relaxed when I took them becuase I was thinking I didn't want my neighbors to see me, especially because one of them is so hysterical that she would have made a fuss of it!"

"I've tried to convey my use of make-up in most of my photos to contrast with my naked self. I love my bright red lipstick that I have used in many of the photos, I love the way it just pops out! I only wear it on special occasions normally but I couldn't stand it just sitting on my dresser looking so inviting! I've tried to pair the red lippy with my favourite clothes I wear all the time. I've got a bit of passion for fashion! I used to do calisthenics (an artistic sport like gymnastics) that required BULK amount of make-up so most of what I wear is stage make-up. I love how it makes me stand out in my photos and performances."

"I don't consider myself a particularly creative person and I'm never really happy with the photos I take in general. Although I feel like a very sexual being, it was confronting to see naked photos of myself from all kinds of angles. This shoot forced me to really appreciate and accept my body in all of its nakedness and imperfections. I shot the photos in three sessions over five days, as some things weren't working out the way I wanted and then I would get more ideas. In the end I just had to accept what I had already done was good enough and let go of the idea of perfect shots. I still had a lot of fun doing it and played some really great music to help me get playful. I love being in my bedroom with my books, music, and collected trinkets from trips overseas or wanderings in the bush. It's my sanctuary and I don't get to share it nearly as much as I'd like. I discovered myself getting wet on several occasions and enjoyed pausing the shoot to pleasure myself and really enjoy that feeling of wetness and the freedom of just letting everything go. I really appreciate the opportunity to participate in I Shot Myself and the positive benefits I've gained from doing it."

"Today is the kind of day where you just want to cuddle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate watching kitsch movies. However I decided to get active as I genuienly like misty, rainy weather and can't wait to get outside once I see a grey sky. So I thought to myself why not combine my favourite kind of weather with a favourite activity? Equipped with my little camera I made my way on to the rooftop of my appartment block. I got nacked quickly, enjoying the liberty of the wind and the rain settling on my skin and ruffling up my hair. After a while I started having a look around just to realise that people from the other flats could see me. At first shocked I came to like it and once again was engrossed by the process of shooting myself. Hopefully you'll be as engrossed by my photos!"

"I've taken photos of myself before, but never have I really... LOOKED at myself. That's what happened when I started taking these pictures. I finally noticed the scars from when I was young. I noticed random birthmarks and stretchmarks from birthing my daughters. I saw all my flaws and was scared. Now I see the beauty in those flaws and I want to discover more about myself."

"When I shot myself with my beloved Kimono that is so silky against my skin and my pink parasol, I felt in a state of meditation. It felt so natural being outside. I had my favourite music playing (the calm and soothing voice of Mazzy Star) and had lots of fun with the camera; playing with different angles and positions my body could be in."

"Nerd of science fiction and BDSM, I watch Battle Star Galactica thoses days and I enjoy the characters of Number Six ("Numéro Six" in french). She's a beautiful and charming woman, not totally a woman, because she's a cylon; a manipulative cyborg. I like the hyper feminity, dangerous women, as Irene Adler, Dominatrix since I'm a child. Despite the fact I'm more genderqueer, sometimes I like to play the "femme fatale", wearing lipstick and mascara, killer eye and self confidence. I shoot on my flat, with summer light of the morning. I'm not blond hair like Number Six but I try to mix cuty smile, redhair, DIY bondage and a tinny mirror for intersting effect. It's my first set so I try like the poet saids "I never try anything, I just do it!" Beware of the redhair Number Six!"

"It was mid morning when I set out on my trek. My dog and yoga mat in tow, I traversed hills, fought through long grasses and passed a rancid creek before finding the perfect private nook. The trees whispered my name as I began to let go and release myself into the shoot. That's when a man and his dog arrived. Apologies and shy giggles were uttered from both sides as our dogs obliviously rejoiced in each others company. Slightly shaken but more so empowered I continued my experiment, stretching my body into awkward yogic positions, creating space, and breaking free of the confines of what I usually share on camera. I wanted the shoot to be in nature to show a connection between the most natural part of me and the barely touched wilds. I didn't think of the mosquitoes. They came in hoards: slowly at first, biting me and drawing blood from places I daresay they've ever had access to before. My photos progressed from clear skin to red and lumpy within moments. I could sense their plan for a final kill, so gathering myself I once more followed the track back; leaving my dream place, my safe space, an oasis among the trees."

After a five year hiatus, Redbird rises again in an explosive three part series. And in a true movie buff style, she opens with an epic 2001: Space Odyssey introduction before having a brief conversation with Agent Scully over the phone. However, the action from this fiery lass truly begins when she plays a game of strip ukulele to Breakfast At Tiffany's "Moon River". Oh it's so good to have you back, Redbird xxx

"I have always been allowed, even more encouraged to express myself through my body. Dancing was a part of my life for many years, which I absolutely loved. I feel the best dancers are the ones, who are able to express the emotions needed for the character and performance. Body and facial expressions were always important to me. I have always been fascinated by making a statement through body expressions and the way that you can move and shape your body. I found shooting myself in this way empowering and exciting!"

"I intended to be more creative with my shoot but since I have just moved back to Melbourne all I wanted to do was catch up with friends, as any 19-year-old would. I tried my best to make use of the props I already had and my surroundings. I'm fairly sure all my neighbours could see me, which will make the next few weeks awkward. Over all I loved shooting this folio. It was lots of fun!"

"Today I took my usual daily stroll down in the bush behind my house, although this was a day like no other. As I got nearer to the creek I heard the most curious and perhapes prehistoric noises. On closer inspection and to my wild surprise I found some new friends. We spent a little time getting to know each other but before long things took a real turn for the naughty... I found myself experiencing an different kind of afternoon altogether. Brontosaurus has always been my favourite dinosaur and now I know why."

"I realized that I'm never naked for more than a few minutes (after the shower) even in the privacy of my own room. I wanted to shoot myself getting ready in the morning, just an every day event, but it felt completely different when I was naked. The most monotonous activities can be flipped by changing a single thing."

"Rakensin kuvauksen yksinkertaisten asioiden ymparille, joita rakastan: puu, tee, kukat... Luonto. Pidin japanilaisen teeseremonian ihollani, puinen kaulakoru paatyi moniin paikkoihin ja kukat saivat ihoni loistamaan. Olin vahva ja herkka samaan aikaan, kuten luonto on. Asun 12 ihmisen kanssa, joten hauska osa oli yrittaa pitaa kuvaus yksityisena. Vain teelehdet ja kukat lattialla muistuttamassa./I built the photo shoot around the simple things I love: wood, flowers tea, nature and earth. I was having a Japanese tea ceremony on my curves. Wooden necklace found its way to many spots on my body and flowers made me glow. I was sensitive and strong at the same time, like the nature is. I live with 12 people; so funny part was to try to keep the photoshoot as my private thing. Only tea leaves and flowers on the floor as a memory."
