"The ocean was the first place I was ever publicly naked, first as a small child and later skinny dipping in Saint Kilda tipsily with friends in the dark. Feeling the sunlight on my bare skin, breeze up between my legs and water splashing up everywhere was a delight. Rolling in sand and grass tickled beautifully in places usually clad in clothes. My friend was holding and hiding behind a huge mirror and scouting for oncoming civilians and children. Diving behind sandstone cliff bases and crevasses became as much fun - and frequent - as shooting myself. It was exciting to shoot somewhere I was not supposed to be naked and feeling nature embrace me back."

"So I shot my self in the Botanic gardens. It was a bit of a thrill as there are always passersby, but it felt so liberating. I enjoyed exploring myself and the nature around although I did get a few mozzie bites. All worth it though as I learn to love my body more each day."

"I decided to continue with an outdoors theme for my second shoot and use my friend’s parents’ outdoor shower. The shower pictures didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to, so I ended up creeping around in their backyard. Her parents were out of town, but I still anticipated them walking in at any moment and finding me creeping around naked in their backyard. My favourite photos from the shoot are when the sun started to set that day. I enjoyed the feeling of the sunshine on my vagina."

"I shot this set as a reflection of a dark time I am no longer in. Taking these photos, I felt in control of admitting weakness - as people should - rather than feeling ashamed as we usually do. Weakness and vulnerability usually reflect stength and control. If I can control this shoot, I can control myself. The chains and jewellery are a representation of the inside of myself which I found so difficult to open and accept and love, but which I can now flaunt and be proud of. I am the only person who controls me."

"This is my third folio for IShotMyself. I've read some of the beautiful comments people have left, which are so sweet and so kind. I like doing photoshoots because I've always been so self-conscious of my body and it's nice to be open about it instead."

"Hi, I'm from Germany. I just finished school this year. I'm hoping to study a combination of economics and Psychology. I would really like to work with people. I love sports, especially horseriding - I've done it for years now. I love to go out in the country by myself. I feel quite comfortable being naked. It's not a secret topic: we talk about it and we do it. That's why I don't have a problem with doing IShotMyself. I'm not shy, so it's more fun than awkward."

"I accidentally broke the mirror, but it made for more interesting shots. Because of the broken glass, I had to wear shoes (which I was thinking of doing for part of it anyway), but my neighbors and their kids kept coming into their backyard and I felt very self-conscious tromping around naked in my loud, clompy boots. I spent a lot of time crouching naked, smoking a cigarette, peering through the fence gaps trying to determine whether or not they could see me."

"This folio was shot mainly at Arthur's Creek, 40 minutes out of Melbourne. The property is virtually abandoned, with two large pine forests, blueberry bushes and four or five wild cows and kangaroos. Nobody knows where the cows came from. I wanted to pose my body in a way that matched some of the shapes of my surroundings and create a story of being lost but surreally comfortable in a forest. Rolling around in the grass and dirt, walking through the forest that seemed endless, perching on mounds of dried wood and posing next to beautiful wild bulb flowers all gives this sense. The twisting and strong poses are combined with soft and relaxed ones to creates a sense of exploration and endless comfort and discovery."

"Je me suis eclatee a me prendre en photo pour ce projet. C'est tres excitant de devoir se devoiler a l'exterieur. Je suis de nature assez pudique mais dans ces conditions, tous mes a-prioris ont disparu, au point de poser sur la plage! merci de m'avoir donne l'occasion de partager ca avec vous!/I had a bunch of fun shooting myself for this project! It's really exciting to be naked outdoors. I am normally someone quite shy with her body but this project gave me an excuse to do it anyway, even on the beach! "Moving to a small surf town where nudity is well accepted inspired me to break my five year absence and shoot another folio. On weekends I like to walk down to the beach early in the morning, when nobody else is around. When I take off my clothes, I have the sense that my personal space flows out to the horizon, that I am one with the wind and sand and gentle rolling waves. It's a deeply peaceful feeling, and it fills me with an energy that stays with me for weeks afterwards."

"I love places that are full of natural light. There's a beauty in spaces that are crisp, white, stark and simple. Places can be alive even without the addition of color. And it allows all the light and shadow of the body to be fully on display. I loved getting to know myself again whilst shooting this, falling back in love with each part of my body, noticing things that had changed and charting every line and freckle. Age has changed me, which I've never had the chance to really notice until now. Being able to stop and reflect and take in change is an amazing experience. It's peaceful."

"I have a tumblr where I like to post sexy photos, and discovered IShotMyself through that and decided to participate. The pictures were taken inside my house on 02/16/2016. I was not thinking about anything at the time was taking the pictures, just enjoying exhibitionism. My cat decided to participate in some photos, I was very happy with the outcome of the photos and I hope the people enjoy it as much as my boyfriend and I did!"

"E'stato divertente scattarsi foto e ridere da sola delle face che facevo. Mi sforzavo di essere creativa ma ogni foto sembrava uguale! Ho provato ad utilizzare diversi oggeti che potessero ornare il mio corpo e provando ogni cosa mi passasse tra le mani ho cominciato a scattare, anche se alla fine i vincitori sono stati pochi!/It was really funny to make selfies and laugh alone about my face! I tried to be creative but every shot seemed the same! I tried to use many objects that could adorn my body and using everything passed in my hands I started to shoot."

"I shot myself in my friend's private backyard, because I live with four other people on student, musician and late night schedules. It was really beautiful - the lighting was perfect and her backyard is filled with flowers, luscious green grass and enough shade. I had to have a few breaks to regain energy - shooting seems so simple but it really does take it out of you. I had an enormous amount of fun, it was awesome to be able to go back and check myself out."
