"This project was beyond my comfort zone. But I had fun doing it. I went a little crazy by painting my whole face, trying to mimic a galaxy pattern but turned out like an alien instead. Honestly, I love being photographed, in general. But this time was different. I had to be fully naked ! At first I was unsure and I wish I could be a supermodel where stretch marks don't exist on my butt. But hey, seeing myself naked in the mirror and in the camera made me realise that imperfections make you perfect!"

"I have never taken nude photos of myself before. When I got the opportunity with ishotmyself I decided it was time to explore the taboo of nude photography. It was shocking how comfortable I was doing it and I found the experience overall a truly liberating one. It gave me a better understanding of my own body and allowed me to be less critical of it."

"I went to this burned patch of forest that just started coming to life again. I love the contrast of blackened trees, young green fern shoots and my naked body between all of that. I feel like one of the ferns, I'm just starting to uncurl...."

Some people have a wonderful knack for making everyday objects suddenly look incredibly sexy and Dakota is one of those gifted few that have this talent. For her return to our fair site she has taken it upon herself to educate us all on how to look amazing whilst relaxing near some incredibly un-special office supplies. Having said that though, I must admit that when Dakota is present, everything else just becomes something of a blur...

"This was one of the most fun things I have done. I had so many creative ideas, but unfortunately limited time to do it in. When I started I looked at it as taking a nude pic, but once I took a few and moved around it was all about the fun crazy ideas I could come up with, trying something out just to see how it would look. I ran around my house, backyard and even the front yard naked for a couple of hours giving everything a go. I will never look at my body as perfect, but I don't need to and the enjoyment I got out of taking part in this was worth more than a better body part could ever give. No matter what, express yourself."

"I shot myself because I thought that seeing myself through the lens of a camera and seeing photographs of my body would allow me to recognise it for what it is. When I see my body in a mirror or in a reflection, I feel self-conscious and can't separate it from my own ingrained perceptions of it. But when I faced the camera towards myself and later viewed the images, even though I knew I took them, it was still as if I was seeing what my body looked like from someone else's gaze. It was like I was seeing it from a different perspective to my own, from the outside. I wanted to know what that would feel like. I thought that it would be humbling and it was :)"

Monica G makes her ISM debut with a collection of images that are as delicate and pretty as the flower that inspired her folio's name (Dianthus-plumarius for the uninitiated). Making excellent use of a couple of mirrors whilst wearing some of the prettiest pink underwear you could imagine, Monica G's folio is a simple but effective introduction.

"Hello my name's Catherine. I'm filming my second I Shot Myself video today. I did my first project a few months ago. I live at college and it was really hard to find a location so I did it in our music rooms. This time I ventured out and we are in a secluded beach. Hopefully no one walks up here and sees me taking my clothes off... It's winter but it's not too cold today so it's definitely manageable to be removing clothes. It's the first time I've been properly naked in public so it's an interesting experience, but it's about feeling good so that's what I'm going to do."

"I always seem to get messy in my photo shoots with glitter, paint, powdered paint, fake blood.... this time it was food dye! I love colour and wanted a fun, cute shoot filled with things I love. I couldn't resist adding my darling cat."

Once upon a time there was a beautiful queen who was transformed into a statue at the hands of an admirer who was jealous of the magnificent and absolute love that she shared with Edie; the woman who would go on to travel across time and space to free her lover from the curse put upon her. Although reversing the spell proved unsuccessful, the queen was granted one final, perfect moment with Edie in an extraordinarily beautiful forest. With their souls now melded together, Edie was free to begin a new journey, safe in the knowledge that her beloved would forever be with her.

"This shoot was definitely something out of my comfort zone. It took me probably a good two hours to get it done. For the first couple of pictures I was bashfully posing, struggling to fit my entire 6 feet of body into the shot. I decided to take on a character—pretend that I was some incredible, sexy, self-confident goddess who knew what she had and how to work it! That also failed. I felt like I was flouncing around and not being me. Eventually I got into the mind set of showing the subtle parts of the female body that truly let our femininity shine; for example, extra skin, cellulite, scars, pesky hair, curves, bone structure, the list goes on. I focused on that and slowly fell in love with how beautiful our bodies are."

"I took the pictures during my day off work, it was a really rainy day and there wasn't enough light in my room. So I texted my housemate asking him if I could you use his bright room for an 'artistic shoot' and of course he accepted. While I was having fun shooting myself, he came back home and broke into the room! The situation was really funny. He would have never expected to find me almost naked in his room taking pictures of myself in funny positions. We laughed about it and I explain to him what FECK is about."

"Shot in my room, I wanted to capture natural moments. I wanted to create a semi throwback to some of my favorite artists, and I wanted to keep it organic. I expected to feel more nervous while I was shooting, but the light was so soothing and nudity always makes me feel like my most honest self."

"While suffering from a 2 day hangover I decided to document my fragile state and my first bubble bath in years for you good people at ISM. It had been half a decade since I last did a shoot and was elated to find how quickly it all came back to me. "Yes, this angle is good, no that one wasn't as good, must grip the camera firmly so as not to drop it, oh man Redbird don't lose the camera in the bath..." I look forward to doing future shoots when I'm settled in a new place and can show y'all my super cool stuff and things."

"As the photos will surely show you, I've got super pale skin and I find the way that it interacts with colour and light really fascinating so I tried to play with that. First I played with colour and painted my body and then contrasting it against blacks. Doing the shoot was a lot of fun! Spending quality alone time with my naked body, learning to appreciate it again and connecting with it"
