"This shoot was something different to start with as the beach I went to is normally secluded, but I managed to go down on one of the warmest Saturdays and there were people everywhere. It involved a lot of me sticking to the rocks, wrapping a sarong around me every ten seconds, and giving up twenty pictures in. Come the next day, I roll out of bed at five in the morning, make a flask of coffee and drag my friend down again with me. It was about a 2 hour drive, collecting her and getting down there, but it was overcast, the lighting was a hundred times better, and there was no one! The beach was mine. And it was honestly a ton of fun. My friend would hold the mirror over my naked body, while I shot myself with seaweed over my face, or lying in a rock-pool of freezing water."

"I really enjoyed shooting in the bathtub, I loved being a part of the greenery with the exotic plants and working with them as a part of the shoot to incorporate the idea of being in the jungle but having the fantastic counter-opposing factor of being in a bathtub! It was very fun and playful and I felt very at home amongst the plants."

"I unexpectedly started my period the day I picked up the camera. Instead of hiding a tampon, I decided to just free bleed while doing my shoot. Why? Because I'm alive, and that's a beautiful thing. So what was supposed to be a simple bedroom shoot turned into a fun and bloody process of self discovery, acceptance, and love."

"I had soo much fun working on my scrapbook for ISM, I also loved playing in the glitter and getting it all over my body! I made soo much mess during the shoot I spilt glitter, moisturizer, soft drink, tea, potato and chips and lollies throughout the room haha as I was working on the book for a few hours with many distractions!!! It was fun using a few mirrors as well, the big one worked amazingly and the others really helped as well :)"

"I am very comfortable with my body and take nudes to send to people already so that wasn't a big deal, but I am not usually a creative person so I was pushed to think of many more unusual and different poses than I ever have before. I'm not as flexible as I used to be! I couldn't have done it without the multiple mirrors, the only thing I would change would be to do it somewhere with enough space to take action shots with the hula hoop!"

"This is the most fun I've had in a long time, quickly ripping off my clothes in broad daylight and shamelessly taking photos of my body. It's invigorating and enlightening, it's made me realise how beautiful we are head to toe. I think the highlight for me was getting naked and jumping into a shopping trolley and watching the trains rush past."

"I'm back doing I shot myself and I haven't done it for about three years so I'm really excited. I'm borrowing my friend's beautiful backyard. It's got pretty flowers and heaps of mirrors which is going to be awesome. I feel a little bit weird talking to a camera because I've never done this before. Doing I shot myself outside you get very dirty, and lots of sticks and stuff in your butt."

"I tried to keep it as real as possible so I shot the pictures in my bedroom with the daily mess in the background. As I am a really big cat lover I put on some cat ears as well. I had fun taking the pictures as I never did anything like this before. It was funny to see some pictures being really weird. I experimented with different camera angles and figured out that some just do not work. But hey, it is all about new experiences and learning new things in life!"

"I have never been very comfortable with my body before, and have actually suffered from an eating disorder just a few years ago - I just recovered fully this year. So approaching a project that I had to be completely naked without the aid of any photoshopping or other concealment devices was terrifying! But once I got into it, very liberating. I think having the freedom to direct your own photos, and the creative control over what content is used is so important, particularly in the area of erotica and the display of the female form for titillation. I am bisexual, and currently in a lesbian relationship, and that to me was a really important turning point in the appreciation of the female body and the beauty of its sexuality - the appreciation and devotion to you and your body, rather than taking pleasure for the partner. I'd always been sceptical of erotic art and photography because it seemed generally so objectifying, so this project is so great to discover! I am always interested in trying out new things, and all the shoots I've done before have been very carefully planned and staged/etc, so doing something so loose and natural was very liberating - but also difficult! I got a bit stuck at one point because I was like...geez, how many more photos can I possibly take and surely no-one would be interested?? But it was fun to push through and just relax."

"This folio is inspired by boudoirs, jewels, textured carpets and sensuality... it was shot in a huge, light filled space and I was looking to capture a tapestry of angles and colour. I love the aquas and purples against the sheen of the white throw and the light and length of the mirror helped me to shoot some interesting perspectives."

"I had stayed in a beautiful apartment a few weeks before so had a sudden brainwave to try and sneak into the apartment block to utilise the (fairly private) rooftop terrace. It was a pretty perfect location for the shoot as there were loungers and a BBQ and panoramic views of the city. It felt pretty incredible to be naked and free up there! I started off feeling totally awkward behind the camera so it was a bit of a stilted start but quickly I got into it and the liberating feeling it created! However there were a few pretty close calls/embarrassing moments because most of the apartments are not yet filled and the real estate was conducting viewings which equalled red faces and a quick departure from the potential tenants! A cheeky builder popped his head through the door to see what was going on at one point too. I don't think I have ever whipped a sarong on so quickly. Despite some slight embarrassment, the shoot really was so much fun. I felt almost drunk by the end of it as it gave me such a high and having struggled with body confidence for years it was so great to feel so confident being naked behind the camera."

"I woke up in the morning really craving a stretch, so I tried to capture a little bit of my yoga practice nude in the backyard! I had a lot of fun - and nearly sustained a few injuries or a broken camera - trying to get some of these shots. Turns out one-handed yoga is a lot more of a workout than I thought! As always, the best part of I Shot Myself is playing around trying new things and getting more comfortable with my body and my sexuality."

Blessed with gorgeous porcelain skin and some truly excellent plum-hued hair, it is with great pleasure that we welcome Anastasia_T to ISM. Despite the space limits set by the little courtyard used to shoot in, Ana displays great knowledge in the fact that when you are this goddam exquisite, very little else is needed.

"The weather was beautiful when I did the shoot, the sun felt nice on my skin. I found it heaps of fun putting the flower in my vagina and rolling around on the grass. I wore no makeup so I felt very natural. I love how the photos turned out."

"The experience of the shoot was such an amazing experience and set me free. It allowed me to feel confident with my body, to play with my sexuality, to be proud of who I am, and to realise that beauty comes in different shapes and colours. It's only a perspective, the human body is beautiful and being able to see it for what it is, it released in me a lot of insecurities. It's such a unique experience being happy in your own skin, and acknowledging we all are beautiful and able to express ourselves however we want with no judgment or taboos. Love yourself xx"
