"I knew about this project for a few months and I wasn't sure at first, but then I basically chose to shoot myself because I think it is a great opportunity to get a bit narcissistic and love your own body. I think these days with lots of great models with "perfect" bodies or great photos fixed with photoshop, no one is used to seeing an "ordinary" body, with its imperfections, its rounded belly, scars and hairs. For this reason and because there is nothing to be ashamed about being naked, I decided to take photos and I enjoyed being part of this project."

"This was such an awesome day. It feels like a very natural thing, being nude in nature. We also got busted by a guy on a bike :) I don't care, I think I have a nice body and I like people to enjoy seeing it. If you want to see the rest, check out 'ecosexual' on IFM..."

"Shooting myself for the first time felt like the first time I ever sent nudes. The first twenty photos I took, I felt weird and it made me come out of the zone. I used little tricks to help me concentrate, like visualising that I'm taking these photos for a soul mate. Or thought about my past experiences, which honestly accidentally threw me off my game. For the first part of the shoot, I lost motivation for something I really did feel passionate about. The second part was the best!! I felt fierce and that nothing was holding me back. I did get thrown off again a little bit when I ran out of ideas or if I hated some of the angles I took with the camera. After that real annoying, negative thought, I said to myself "Screw it!!". I had to understand that I have my flaws and if we were living in a perfect world, it'd all look as if it was photoshopped, so the depths on thought and outlook of insecurity and pretty much anything are endless. I felt sexually attracted to myself for the first time ever haha, and I also discovered within myself that I have fire burning out from bottom to top, my hair is a representation of that fire coming out. I also had in my mind that one day girls will be walking around topless out in public on hot days like men can, and it'll all be because of this project and group of women who are spreading awareness to make this day happen. I can imagine a world of acceptance if every female took this same opportunity."

"This shoot was inspired by my return home to Alice Springs, where I grew up. I knew the natural red landscape and wild bush would be a great backdrop for a shoot and I couldn't wait to capture this. Going home is very grounding for me and I wanted to experience this coupled with the empowerment shooting for I Shot Myself gives me. The day I arrived home was grey and rainy - rare in Alice - so I decided to capture a few shots that day to add variety to my shoot and to portray the changeable and sometimes volatile nature of the environment. The day I shot in the bush I drove 20kms out of town before I found somewhere relatively prickle free and with sand I could use for my shoot. It was about 37 degrees that day and shooting outside was HARD! I was so pleased with the results though and the gorgeous red sand and unique bush backdrop was well worth it."

"Taking nude photos of myself made me feel very comfortable in my own body. I love how I learned to appreciate every part of me and see it with my own eyes and love it! It is so important to love yourself. The fact that I am different than everyone makes me feel special and so unique! Thank you ISM for giving me this opportunity to show off my body! "Hoy me senti muy bien con la naturaleza, el pasto, el sol, el calor, el otoño, las hojas, los colores y los pajaros cantando. Es divertido jugar con uno mismo disfrutando del entorno, sin importar nada, hasta que te sentas sin querer en el barro jaja. Nunca crei que me atreveria a tomarme fotos en un parque a plena luz del dia, pero aqui estamos... / Today I felt very good with the nature, the grass, the sun, the heat, the autumn, the leaves, the colors and the birds singing. It is fun to play with yourself enjoying the surroundings, regardless of anything, until you sit unintentionally in the mud haha. I never thought I would dare take pictures in a park in broad daylight, but here we are..."

"I really loved doing this shoot. Combining the switchy side of my kinky self made me so happy. Starting off as this strong dom wearing stockings and garters then slowly transitioning to my more submissive, cheeky side really showed me how far I've come in the last year as when I entered the kink scene I assumed I was just submissive. I loved using all my props and the mirror in such different ways, capturing the playful, fun nature and the beauty in my own nudity. Seeing beauty in my naked body has always been hard, but I really got to explore it with this shoot. When I was doing the shoot, halfway through I realised that I needed a little something extra. I found that my red scarf, red ribbon and red lipstick really brought out my cheeky, more flirty side and allowed me to relax - I looked like Snow White which was super cool and fun! I also tied up my teddy. Because why the fuck not!? xoxo"

"I did the shoot in the warehouse I share with 4 friends. You can probably see some of them in the background. We're a really open household, they've all seen me naked before, however some of the neighbours hadn't until I did some shots with the bay door open! One guy drove past about 5 times haha. It doesn't bother me, I think I have a nice body and I like people to appreciate it. I had a lot of fun doing this!"

"I fotografie erano assolati e freddini. Mi muovevo con disinvoltura supportata dai miei coinquilini che si sono allontanati dal posto dove ho fatto le foto e che si cono interessati. Un altro coinquilino spaventoso e fermo, un ragno, non e' stato di grande aiuto sparendo dal suo solito posto del giardino. Ha il corpo grande come un'oliva matura a cui aggiungi una testa pelosa. / The photographs I took were sunny and cold. I was reluctantly supported by my roommates who went away from the place where I took the photos. Another frightening and firm roommate, a spider, was not a great help by disappearing from his usual place in the garden. It has a large body like a mature olive to which it adds a hairy head."

"I was so keen to do this shoot and I absolutely loved every part of it. Being able to express all parts of my body and personality and just enjoying being confident within myself made me feel empowered. With all the different positions and locations it was exciting to see the end product and it was a great experience and such a great opportunity!"

"It's hard to find time alone in a house with 8 people and I had no luck with it but I made good use of my room and shower. I turned on Velvet Underground and had fun stripping down to 'Femme Fatale' which is my ultimate sexy song. I just got a new kitten and she is very cuddly so it was hard to keep her from trying to snuggle in beside me so she got shot too! It was fun experimenting with all the mirror angles and positions and I discovered I was much more flexible than I thought. I am so glad I took part in ISM, I think I'll have this sexy glow for the next week!"

"I'm 23 years old and new to Melbourne! I identify as pan-sexual and love all human beings, and sport and music is what I do in my spare time! But I do love the occasional PC and Console gaming (you might spy a SNES controller in a couple of shots). "We chased the kangaroos for what seemed like miles but every time we got close, they hopped away. Then the male of the herd came right up to check us out which was really scary - he stared at Sarah with his muscles flexed and I thought he was going to attack! They do that sometimes."

"I am very comfortable naked and it was a positive experience shooting for I Shot Myself. I felt like it increased my sense of self awareness and made me think of possible ways I am perceived by other people."

"I decided to do a few different themes throughout the shoot. I wanted to show the different areas of my life and I found that it made me be a lot more creative and I was able to really put it all out there. By showing different parts of me I felt like I was really letting everyone in and showing them all my little secrets, like eating pizza on the kitchen floor, which is a common occurrence for myself."
