I would like to formally apologize...

...To anyone who was offended by my recent posts to this **"forum" showing a satirical image of a well known celebrity with "her privates" exposed. I am saddened and perplexed how a site that revels in the celebration of the "human form" would somehow be offended by it! I guess my falling began when I deeply underestimated the hypocracy of some members of ISM. I thought being part of an adult site meant you could perhaps share adult humor... I was wrong, and for that I apologize.

This being my final post, I bid you all farewell so as to make room for "deep" discussions of a woman peeing in an apartment sinks, or images of a woman inserting the handle of a toothbrush in her vagina...

PS: WANTINGSCOTT<----Try to get some time out of the "Big Apple", and clear your head of all that NYC pollution...

PSS: To the "Administrators" of ISM; Being that this is my last post and it contains NOTHING "Crude", as a final request I ask that you allow this one member his "freedom of speech" by not deleting it in cowardice...

Re: I would like to formally apologize...

oh come on now, MrPickMe, don't be like this!!! hey man, didn't i tell you yesterday that you had great lats and that i'd love to see you submit a set of your own??? i did, read it!

hey man, listen. paparazzi shots often are an invasion of privacy, and so are Photoshopped forgeries. this site is all about the real thing (aint nothing like the real thing, baby). the women, girls, chicks, grrls ALL have their OWN fingers firmly planted on the shutter, even for shots like this...

there's just no need for any outside porn, is all... that's what sites like big-boys.com and bangedup.com are for (two of my faves).

lets shake cyberhands and get on with it, dude.

with sincerity,

Re: I would like to formally apologize...

Being that MrPicMe has rather dramatically stated that the start of this thread was his last post, I suppose replying is irrelevant, but...

I must admit, I am not sad to see him go.  His comments on folios have been so consistently juvenile and offensive, that I find myself inwardly groaning every time I see his name in the comments section.  (One recent comment was "It puts the lotion in the basket" - for those of you who may not have caught this one, it's a reference to the creepy serial killer in The Silence of the Lambs - I assume implying that the woman resembled him. How that is in keeping with the values of this site, I have no clue.)

I am all for free speech, and I defend your right to have your own opinions, but in my mind ISM is working towards creating a community - of course there will be disagreements and discussions, but my feeling is that all of us would like an overall feeling of respect, and...I don't know, decency?  Yes, it's fun and sexy and maybe even raunchy at times, but those are a far cry from simply being offensive and juvenile.

Re: I would like to formally apologize...

Am I to assume most of you don’t like my humor either? I thought this was a anything goes kinda place. I like to let go of my normal public restraints here. I have a few friends who I can say anything to but not many. Are there social prudes here among us? If someone wants to post a picture of their parts here I don't care. I will just skip over the post if I find it offensive. And isnt that Heads job to censor the posts? And I would think if someone objects it would be noted.
So shall I shut up or keep chattering?
Stew

PS I am not easily quieted once disturbed. Like a dragon.

nah, Stew, there's nothing crusty about it...
i guess you missed it? there were 2 forged shots of Anna Kournikova posted on another thread. now, if they were two shots that Anna had taken HERSELF and posted, right on!!! or- if MrPicMe had posted a shot of MrPicMe Jr. that he took, that woulda been cool, too.

I am replying because I am one who e-mailed a direct response to PicMe, and he seems perplexed by negative reaction to his posts.

The forged photos of AK constitute an assault on her public persona in the sleaziest tradition of sensationalist press.  That type of thing does not in the slightest relate to women who shoot themselves.  What do the posts satirize?  Does he mean to say women here are somehow like AK wannabes?.

This is an adult site.  Childish Infantile humour is not appropriate.

A forum is a place where discussion happens, and hopefully learning also takes place.  Learning others' point of view is the prime reason for having a discussion.  Nowhere is it even mentioned that one has to respect, believe, or otherwise approve of statements made by others in a forum.

And another thing,  the whole thing about this site is that it celebrates the people with the courage to shoot themselves.  The human form they occupy is the least part of the attraction for me. Not that it is insignificant - the personal stuff is just way more attractive.   It is the personal investment that rocks.

PS
Stew - I don't object to ppl posting their own wrinkly bits- what I objected to MPM was that he was posting OTHER ppl's privates, and even that was a forgery.  A direct attempt to humiliate and diminish other people angers me.  I found your posts humerous, adult, and have enjoyed your quirky sense of humour.  Spending 25 yrs with whacky guys in and around Saint John NB gave me an appreciation or the point of view.

Oh the malodrama.

ISM credo is "women presenting themselves naked on their own terms".   It has always been our goal to respect all women and to create a place where those who like to get naked can do so without their esteem being compromised and without being subjected to sleaziness.  The pictures were disrespectful, besides being off topic, and there are plenty of other forums which deal in that stuff. MrPicMe is a life member of ISM and I would hope he'd take the heads-up on the chin and come back to post on-topic.

Apropos of censorship, this is a post-moderated forum whatever you call it.

Lots of hotties over there, take Miss Canada 1996 she was from the rock. And too bad she lost the title for getting rough with another girl. But she made out ok in 1997 Dec edition of Playboy, she made the cover. I still have a mint copy, no pages stuck together at all. And the thing I love her the most for, she is a Star Trek fan LMAO.

I always thought that an apology was given on the basis of realising ones mistake or error and was an abject act, not a platform for further ridicle.
The acceptance by MrPicMe that this site is a first-party image forum, rather than a third-party image forum would be sufficient. However, if he cannot understand the difference between someone taking and publishing pictures of themselves "peeing in a sink" and his own misrepresentative images it begs the question, life member or no, does he belong here?

Because I am so passionate about this “cutting edge” form of self-expression, I chose to be a LIFETIME sponsor of ISM. For you, Belgareth, to question the VALIDITY of MY sponsorship, is egregious! It would take on the liking of me saying, “You don’t belong in England, because you can’t spell “English” words properly!!!”(see your posting) Given your, and other objectors pursuit of this “purist” perspective within the “Forum” environment, would mean most people who post with “Avatars” and other pictures are TOO then in breach of ISM credo. Belgareth, I don’t buy into your holier than thou routine, or your antagonistic rattle. In fact, you probably didn’t even see the photos that you are commenting about! For you to substitute YOUR words for the ISM credo, is similar to me pissing on your leg and me telling you it’s raining!

ISM credo states: But not all the images on Project ISM are artistic in the usual sense. Some are plain smut, perhaps because the contributor wants to be shocking, and so she's treating the Project as a venue for performance art. The basic rule of Project ISM is that the artist must shoot the entire folio herself (or in the case of Duets, with a partner). That usually means she shoots from arm's length, or uses a mirror for a wider field of view. Some artists shoot themselves at home, some use outdoor settings, and some visit us to use one of our huge mirrors. Some contributors are experienced photographers and some have lots of creativity but not so much skill. Some don't have much of anything except a sense of adventure, and some just want to be shocking.

I brought those pictures to the “public forum”, though not welcomed by all, for mere levity!!! It was not I who was confused about the “contraband” photos. I, as well as any intelligent person, knew they were fakes. (Therein lies the humor) In fact on the one photo, in big green letters were the words “FAKER 2000”…  By this, I was shocked at the uproar of discontent. Then I come to find that the photos have been removed from a thread I created, which is nothing more than an exercise in censorship by way of a pseudo-governmental control. In fact, this “push out”, “squash out” routine smells a lot like than Nazi tactics. If this site is “fresh” and “cutting edge”, than shouldn’t the forum have a “live and let live feel about it”? Believe it or not, this site wouldn’t even exist if the world of hypocrites like your selves took power over the internet… (Take the Howard Stern and his radio broadcast case for a prime example)

For you, Belgareth to think for a moment that I was being “artistic” or planned to pass those photos on as a “first party” image to collect on ISM cash, you must be insane! These photos were placed in an “open/public FORUM” on a paid adult site on a thread I created!!! Which in my eyes should be a bastion from closed-minded hypocrites. If you were one of the people who actually saw the pictures and were offended or thought they were in bad taste, Then you should have exercised YOUR right to block my postings!!! Or “changed the channel” and go to another thread. If you didn’t like it, as the saying goes, move along! I love ISM and the artistic follios, it’s just weasel-y hypocrites I can’t stomach. Belgareth and alike, your actions are reminiscent of a porn watching bible thumper picketing outside a peep house! Remember; YOU, the thumper came into the peep house, the peep house didn’t come to you the “thumper”!!! It’s those thoughts, beliefs, and actions that can only lead to your own extinction!(this site)

Now ask yourselves, did my thread REALLY encroach on your rights as a member? Or, are you encroaching on MY rights as a member?

The ISM credo said it best: “…It's this diversity which makes Project_ISM a unique and fascinating experiment.”

Re: I would like to formally apologize...

MrPicMe,
your rant reminds me of a day i forget to take my meds. seriously. i'm bi-polar. if i forgot my meds, i would do all sorts of off-color stuff thinking it was funny (manic swing), THEN when people called me on it, i would get all pissed off and angry (depressive).

no, seriously. stop getting so pissed off. wanna laugh? i'm not only bi-polar, but schitzophrenic and psychotic (when i forget my meds.) right now i'm at work and i'm fine.  it's been like this since i was 3 years old. i've been taking Seroquel, Trileptol, Butabitol, Topomax, Celexa and Klonapin twice a day for the past two years and i'm finally coherent.

let's all exhale... and maybe have a good long masturbation, shall we? that's what we're all here for, under the veil... and there's soooo many folios...

Scott

I hope you stick around MrPicMe you have done the best job sofar getting this bunch riled up. I try in my small way to no avail. If there is a hotter topic out there let me know so I can have a look and wade in.

The way I perceive it, his posts as a totality betray a rather grubby-minded and unenlightened attitude to nudity and sex; that women who participate in getting their clothes off on a site like this are crazy whores who consent to anything and deserve anything they get (his remark in the "For Catt and Head" thread, and his posting of inappropriate and denigrating content to the forums, both point to this). There also seems to be an attitude of ridiculing and diminishing the artists and participants in question.  I think that a space such as this could best do without such attitudes, and he needs to check his attitudes and do some growing up.

Just because someone has different boundaries than the so-called mainstream doesn't mean that they have no boundaries or are undeserving of common respect as a human being.

As far as I am concerned, this site can be, and should be completely devoid of ALL boundaries. In fact, here are a few folio “suggestions” you can jot down on a wish list for the future.
