Women In Uniform

There's always been a lot of hoo-ha over men in uniform over the years, but what about women in uniform? Sadly enough (for me and my social life), i'm a bit of a WW2 nutbar, and recently saw a spoof series of a bunch of Russian lasses sporting the national military kit (albeit modified for additional exposure...if you know what I mean) climbing all over rusty tanks. I'm a big fan of kitsch, also, so this set was just so much fun. If I ever mustered the courage to do an ISM shoot myself at some stage, i'm sure i'd try to figure out some way of incorporating this 'fetish' (ease up, boys) into the folio.

What about you guys? Women in uniform - yay or nay?

Re: Women In Uniform

Never really been one of those girls who harboured the fireman/policman/pilot/parole-officer with-latex-gloves sort of fantasies. But woman in uniform? Now that's another story.

Although it's more of a costume than a uniform, I've always had this thing for Amazonian girls. You know - ripped bear skin skirt and top, vines wrapped around their legs and stomachs, mud smeared over their face and bodies, twigs and leaves in their hair and a still writhing fish between their teeth. Who needs a policeman when an Amazonian can throw a spear at 100 metres and skin a rabbit with her bare hands?

So let me guess...while other kids were put to bed early, you were allowed to stay up late and watch Barbarella with your dad?

How did you know?! Jane Fonda's my hero! While all the other little girls were playing with glitter and pink lipstick; I was running around in kohl eyeliner and silver knee-high socks. Damn I was trendy.

What about you? I bet you lived for Hogan's Heroes and MASH repeats hey? Hoping to get a glimpse of the ladies in their army fatigues with sweat dripping down their chests. I'll look out for your folio in the future - easy to spot cos you'll be the girl wearing a ushanka and a suggestively un-buttoned military overcoat!

Hogan's Heroes rocked, though not necessarily for the drool content. Those guys didn't care for women - they just wanted to put the wind up those wacky Nazis (and possibly escape in the process).

And I resent your implication that i'm a sweatophile...and i'm certain that there must be some sort of technical name for that, but i'm not one! As for the ushanka and milita overcoat, i'll wait until Hell freezes over (so it's good and cold), and you just try to pry the bottle of vodka from my frozen claws...

Not sure that this is the definitive term overall but "Salirophilia" is a fetish for tasting sweat... just trying to help.

I'm all for women in uniform. To be more specific the National Socialist Field Tunics of the various Organisations of the time, I mean just look at this; need I say more

Wow, now there's something to pin to your ceiling to gaze at longingly on those long, cold nights. Have they by any chance released a calendar? Was that Miss September?

Re: Women In Uniform

I am a Star Trek fan and love seeing all the costumes that show up at the conventions, there are some wild ones. As much as I like the naked girls here on ISM I wish more of them would start fully clothed. I like the fact of being able to wonder what's underneath.
I want to do the costume thing sometime it gives you a mask to hide behind in some sense. Kinda like an excuse to be someone you normally might not be in day to day life. I see myself as a Klingon and I am normally a quiet guy. But as a Klingon I can express my aggressive side which normally is controled. So I would be in your face, don't piss me off, fuck you and the horse you rode in on character. Tear your heart out and eat it while you watch and die. But only with the people who understand the character LOL. I wouldn't go to Mickey D's and give some 16 yr old a heart attack or scare little old ladies. LMAO

The universe is unfolding as it should, and so are the girls on ISM. I love them all.

i gotta weigh in. i have a few female friends in the Army. when i see them in dress uniform or in BDU's, it is to me SO goddam sexy because they look so empowered. i'm not talking about fetishized uniforms, or worn in a skin-baring way. i just mean cammo, boots and hair back in a ponytail, the way a man would wear (well not the pony- you get the point...)

Fucking hard out aye! And North africa, that got grizzly, EL ALamien was hard won. The Italians didn't have the "fight till the death mentailty of the Germans though'. The battle of Midway was the most exciting thing I've ever watched footage of. have you seen it? The fire bombing of tokyo was heartbreaking even before they drop the atomic bomb on hiroshima and nagasaki. What about the the holocaust, did you know more russians were massacred than jews by the germans but because of the cold war it was less well reported. Actually now I think of it, war doesn't make me feel sexy at all. In fact, it breaks my heart, but then I am a pisces...

Re: Women In Uniform

An aside on some of the war stats. - Stalingrad was pretty grim. Read Enemy at the Gates for a real in- depth record of horror, toughness, - pre war population over a half million, post battle: 35000. 250 thousand mostly German, but also Italian, and other German allies marched off to the east at the end of the battle. Destination: Siberia. No food, deep snow. They died in the thousands along the way. Nobody arrived. Please do not be tempted to think the movie was even close. In the first place there were a few detail changes to make it more sellable - the Russian sniper - a Russian woman - hadda be changed to be a New York Jew?
I rant.
For sheer stupidity you gotta admire WW1. Look at the battle of Verdun, over a million casualties on each side, gas used frequently. The whole war to prevent a sort of European Union with a strong German economic presence. And begun with all participants knowing they could start the process that led to war but had no way of stopping it.

I prefer to glorify other types of uniforms:
Sport wear,
French Maid,
School Girl,
leotards,
Saffron robes
various National dress - Sari, Obi, and so forth.

Try this thought on for size. War is what separates man from animals. It also drives invention, development, innovation, but not art.

Winning is good, except the winners are not really nice people.
Losing sucks.
Ask any Carthaginian.

Liandra - I have seen the image of Hitler's hanky-head, and the many others of him looking jovial. I've seen the battle of Midway footage, but the most exciting footage i've ever viewed is that of the special forces of Soviet's Syberia coming in from hiding, and with their troops on skis and tanks able to skim the snow which had decimated the Nazi's tanks (rendering them - and their weaponry - totally useless), beating the Nazis back from the close-to-the-end Stalingrad. It was a real hero moment (and one which was used as inspiration for George Lucas' original Star Wars), and totally incredible to see.
As for the war itself - the millions killed and cruelty enacted - you're right, there's nothing erotic or sexy about it. However, the pin-ups of the era appeal to my kitsch sensibilities, and there's just something about tanks that trips my trigger. I'm not usually into machinery of any sort (Hell, I still ride a pushbike), but a Panzer attack is a mighty thing to behold, and the mechanisms of the war - the ingenuity of engineering - keeps me fascinated. The horror is a dismally major element of WW2 (for example), but the great minds pitted against each other in strategic combat, the espionage, the rebellions and the dignity of those considered the underdog - this is where my fascination lies. It is a 'story' that could not have been concocted by any mind...as per usual, truth is stranger than fiction.

Stew, surely there are naked pictures of Klingons out there somewhere...this is the Internet, after all!
As for costumes, and masks to hide behind, I think we all do that to some extent. Some take it seriously, and others do it for a change of pace. And it's good to know you don't run about scaring old ladies...what would Spock say!?

I know exactly what you mean TG...surprisingly, in a time where money was tight and pinched to cover war expenditure, they still made the most incredible uniforms. That type of cut and detail and craft is just not replicated today. Hot!

I think it is time someone mentioned Librarian Chic in this thread. You know, the glasses, knee length skirts and opaque stockings that lead you to believe that these women are actually bondage queens in their spare time...or is that just me and my peverted little fantasies?

I went to a costume party a year or two ago dressed as a librarian and I have never been hit on by so many people at one party.

Good point, pixen, and no, I don't think you're alone. Strength and smarts (even if only perceived) are incredibly appealing in women. I have lots of gorgeous nerd-boy friends that go nutty over the librarian look - all you need do is throw on some glasses and act a little demure/coy and you're on a winner.

I know! They're the Pamela Anderson in every thinking guys fantasy! It's like guys see a glimpse of stockinged knee or a bit of white contton-tail panties when their friendly librarian leans over and they're rendered speechless and have to go to the cooking section and read about how to make the perfect fruit flan to calm themselves down.

I actually read an article ages ago about all the different types of women out there (the full-time mums, models, security guards, fashion ppl, office ball-breakers, students, life models, etc) and photgraphed a few girls that represented every sector they covered. They did a little impromptu poll amongst some guys to see which group they preferred and the majority of guys chose the office girls. This was over the naked life models, vaguely pre-pubescent models and fit and toned security guards. So it just goes to show that brains really ARE attractive (obviously more so when they're contained within a head instead of lying on an operating table). Who would've thought hey?
