Usability on mobile devices

Hi

I really love your page as this Is one of the seldom places where digits meets personality and emotion.

I would like to start a discussion about the usability of the webpage on mobile devices.
To be honest, browsing through the content on e.g an iphone is a nightmare.

Some issues which reduces the great experience of your website
- no responsive design. Impossible to zoom out on the landing page to the the whole width
- in the content the back and return arrow on the zoomed picture is mostly not usable.
- The x to close a picture sometime impossible to reach.
- If you zoom in the thumbnail gallery of a post and click on an image, you destroy the screen layout
- white pack ground for zoomed pictures is difficult.
- no gesture control like next, precise, close image...
- no indicator on which page you are exempt of somewhere between 70 and 80.

You are such long in the market and have to keep this service alive, but please think about the usability and interaction desingn in the today world.
Goggle, if you like it or not is correct with the statement:Mobile first!

Next to this I thin the usability of the webpage for desktop and laptop user especially the option to download is great. Never give this up

Hope the upcoming discussion helps you to take the right decisions!

Stay healthy and nude!
Best, Dom

Re: Usability on mobile devices

Thank you so much Dom for your constructive feedback combined with your yummy compliments! We are a small business and keeping our websites going really keeps us all busy every day. We would also truly love - LOVE - to see ISM go mobile, just like you. Especially with the worldwide pandemic we are facing now, it's likely we won't get to make such dynamic site changes as soon as we would like. But once again, thank you for your feedback, and during this time, I hope you can enjoy browsing ISM a bit more frequently from home on your bigger devices... which is really the best place to indulge wink

Re: Usability on mobile devices

Hi doomnbg, Viva.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy A40 phone. I don't use it for ISM or IFM for NSFW reasons, but I've just tried ISM on it and I can see everthing OK. I've got autorotate on so the site comes out full width when I turn the phone sideways, and I can see the X to close clearly, and on normal upright view I can enlarge the site to fill the screen and still be visible. I don't know how your phone is set up but it might be worth checking that you've got it set to do these things automatically. TBH, I find Facebook far more fiddly on a phone than ISM would be if I used it, as it has a habit of randomly jumping around when you click on things..

Regards, Mori

Re: Usability on mobile devices

Hi. You experienced these issues if you frequently visit the page. Technically you can get everywhere but the usability is made for desktop use cases and far a way from what you call a mobile device interaction concept.
Yes with some tweeting I can Mimik a desktop computer web page experience but this is definitely not was is usual for modern mobile optimized pages.

At least gestures to go through the image gallery would help. Zoom on double tap, ...

I realise everybody has their reasons for what they do, but I just can't imagine looking at this site on my mobile.
Like drinking vintage claret from a paper cup.

Re: Usability on mobile devices

I fully second what OP wrote, mobile is the future.
Have you considered allowing access to open source developers who could write an ios/android apps accessing your site directly (via an API/crawling) - made with a mobile UI in mind? Could be the best of both worlds
