ARTISTS STATEMENT

Being comfortable with myself and in my body, is much more important that I ever thought. Lately, I have come to love my body and all its little quirks and cuteness's. When I found the little card advertising this project in a noodle shop in my local village, I was filled with excitement. Participating in Ishotmyelf was something I felt I needed to do and that would benefit me greatly and it most certainly has. I feel my most powerful when I am naked and this is how all women should feel. Powerful, brave, limitless and invincible. Body positivity in women is something I feel very strongly about. Too many women are belittled due to media's idea of ‘beauty’. I think it must come to an end. All bodies are beautiful no matter how they are perceived by society. It's up to us as women to decide the way our bodies are seen, no one else. I believe Project ISM is doing marvelously at portraying body positivity, strength in nude and the benefits of feeling confident with ourselves. Being a part of this and doing this shoot has empowered me and I felt brilliant (and sexy) afterwards!
