ARTISTS STATEMENT
I grew up in a very conservative and religious family, so my self expression has always been hindered to some extent. If they knew half of what I have done, they wouldn't believe it and wouldn't agree with it, but I enjoy what I do and it makes me feel quite good about myself. I've been self conscious and shy for as long as I can remember, and I have my bad body image days quite often. However, I find that modelling, and more recently getting nude or even just skimpy, is empowering to me, because eventually I get over my body hangups and shyness for a moment, and just don't care any more because I'm in the moment and having fun. I believe that pushing myself out of my comfort zone and doing things like this are slowly helping me get over my body image issues, shyness, and insecurities, and helping me gain more confidence, or at least just more comfort about my body and myself.
