"Shooting this folio was much trickier than I thought. First, because I typically prefer to disguise/dress as an alter ego (for costume/fashion/performance art purposes), it helps me have a better idea on how to pose and display myself. Second, because my figure has changed a lot over the past 2 years and I am just coming to terms with it, and third because I had to sneakily borrow my housemates mirror when she wasn't using it. I was trying to think of all the ways I could show my creativity with changing my settings and adorning myself in things but found this exhausting. The premise of IShotMyself really inspired me to loose all attachment to this and show up as my un-characterised self. Stinky, hair-do by my pillow, big t-shirt that needs to be washed, my clothes on the line that got rained on. I also spilt coffee on my bedsheets, and my partner will be cranky with me when they get home, but it was all worth it to come out with some photos that felt like a wholesome morning activity."
