ARTISTS STATEMENT

This is a bit of writing I did after my first snap from the shoot, when I thought my neighbour saw me. For me it illustrates our cultures view of nudity being an embarrassing and private enigma and through my reaction I saw in myself how much it lives me, it's a sad thing, but I also have the other real feelings in me which is that under my clothes I am naked and free! This project helped me get in touch with that feeling even more. ...You should have seen her hiding there - this pretty little thing all covered in shame and cursing her impulsiveness, covered up and curled over to hide that exotic display of succulent skin that the sun just saw. She's dreaming now of finding more moments, amongst this highly un-private life of hers, where time alone is hidden in dark night corners, where everyone sleeps and nothing is open and she twiddles away at this vast internal wonderfield she has under the guise of slumber - and she wonders - truly - will she ever be so naked and free, as she just was, for those few seconds - pealed open like a summer fruit, upon her window sill....
