ARTISTS STATEMENT
I've never liked the skin I'm in. Being naked is something I've struggled with for a long time. I couldn't bear to look at myself and was terrified of anyone else seeing my naked body. I now realise that every woman's body is sacred and beautiful, including mine. I'm beginning to feel more comfortable in myself and in my body. I am a woman. My body is mine and mine only. Nobody can take that away from me. I've been sexually assaulted and felt like my body being mine wasn't true for a long time. I have reclaimed myself and that feels empowering. Ishotmyself has made me feel even more empowered. I am grateful for the opportunity of this experience.
