ARTISTS STATEMENT

I've always had an exhibition streak; when I was younger I just wanted to be nude all the time. I grew up in a very strict religious household, which quelled that until much later. It has only been in my 30's that I’ve finally been comfortable with my sexuality, my nudity and my kinks. My brand of exhibitionism is seeing the desire in someone else's face for me, my body, and the animal instinct that kicks in when you're turned on. Doing this shoot was emotional for me. It was a really intimate exercise in accepting my body and seeing it properly for the first time at this age, in so many different angles and showing my vulnerability. It was such a juxtaposition combining my mental image of my body, with my physical one, which is invariably different. It's such a wonderful and confronting experience in accepting and loving myself.
