ARTISTS STATEMENT

"I shot myself" was a totally alien experience to me but this year I am trying to do more activities that are out of my comfort zone. All other things I've tried have made me learn more about myself which is important for growth. I had fun getting creative with a camera, rather than with a canvas and paint brush. I felt a little prudish about taking multiple naked pictures of myself, however soon I relaxed into it. The thought of the different positions/props and the act of getting caught naked by my housemates was exciting and a big turn on! By age 24 I'm fairly confident in my own skin and the way I look naked. This project has indeed helped. I feel empowered.
