ElZorrero says... Righteo, my favorite photos are often of the chipped nail polish, the stubble, the odd bit of lint in the hair or laundry on the floor. All show the common and day in day out, it's a deeper level of sexuality, to me, I guess cuz it show's a real human inside of it all. Curious: how do you do your shoots do you have a basic idea and then let it rip? Or do you plan each shot in advance? Or ? gala1 says... ElZorrero: yup, we are just everyday bodies, and that's what I think ISM is about - allowing the everyday to be sexy. The day I took these photos was just one day in the history of my body, and I didn't do anything to prepare my body for being represented sexually/artistically or wait until I looked 'my best' to shoot myself. So like a lot of what you see on ISM, there's no posturing, there's no standing out from the crowd or placing oneself above any other - it's just presenting something honestly and letting the shoot be a part of the rhythm of my day rather than some sort of event. 10:01AM Apr 5th 2008

gala says... Thank you to all for your comments. This set is really special to me, and thanks for acknowledging the work that went into it. 'o corpo sutil' means 'the subtle body' in Portugese, and that's what I see in these images - a subtle, everyday body presented in a way in which it blends into its surroundings. I also tried to use the light in a way that captured subtle, intimate pieces of me.
