Speaking for myself, I think it particularly nice when an artist replies to the comments of the subscribers. Ella_C just submitted a thoughtful and quite delightful thank-you note that I'm sure was appreciated by each of those who earlier submitted their comments. Dialogue is wonderful. I wonder why more of the artists don't reply to the comments about their respective portfolios. I love it too when, in this forum, artists discuss their portfolios with other artists. It often is quite interesting. What do you think? I'd like to hear from the artists how they like the comments--and also what they don't like. Artists often take chances that expose their vulnerabilities. We commenters ought to be sensitive to and appreciative of this. Knowing what pleases and is constructive to the artists would be helpful to me in considering my comments. It's the least I can do, yes?

I absolutely agree, it is heart warming to get a response and Ella was very gracious
and Trevor, I thought your comment was humorous, glad Ella made her special comment to you...
I wish there was some way of these contributor responses being made more visible or aware to those of us who do comment as so often, the contributor's response is made weeks or months later, and probably nobody even knows she commented...

Ashmedi is an ancient demon of rage and lust.
Rage is not my thing, but I must admit to committing my favorite of the 7 deadly sins for most of the contributors

I really love receiving comments on my folios! As contributors, a lot of thought, time and energy goes into compiling the shots for folios, so it's such a nice feeling to know that the members appreciate and respect and enjoy what is essentially a very intimate part of yourself that you're sharing. All the Feck projects are really personal and showcase so much personality, so it's incredibly encouraging when you know your work has been well received. I've always found the types of comments left by ISM members really very wonderful - they are always thoughtful and quite often humorous and witty. It's really a testament to how hard the admins have worked and still work to create a respectful, open online community within the world of erotica.
I also sometimes find myself wishing I could get a little notification on my phone or laptop when someone comments one of my folios or a thread. It would be like a sexy facebook

Elsa, I appreciate seeing and hearing your comments and input...
And like you, I would love to know when a contributor had commented on her folio(s) as that is an upper... Most times those comments occur so late that the folio has slipped from current memory, and there is never enough time to revisit them all looking for input... Some form of flag or notification would really be nice...

I love all of the comments on my ISM folios. The respectful and thoughtful comments from members was something that really attracted me to ISM when I first started out - it makes me feel like I'm in a little haven from the sleaziness that plagues the internet. You're comments are always great, Trveor, you express yourself very well and always have something lovely to say. I'm sure any contributor who reads your comments would feel a rush of excitement to know that she is appreciated so much.

The ISM (and BA, IFM) forums have an option to subscribe to threads so you get an email notifying you whenever someone responds. I'll look into seeing if we could use this feature for folio comments as well.
I love it when contributors join in on the forums and comment on their folios as well. It's great when contributors start threads about their lives, since there are so many people from around the world there are always new and interesting things to talk about. Members here are so quick to welcome and compliment new contributors so once they take the plunge and make their first post I think they will discover it can be a really fun place to be.
Thanks for your feedback guys, Viva and I will be working on ways to attract more people to the forum this year and hopefully you will see the results of our efforts soon

To Devochka's comment, "it makes me feel like I'm in a little haven from the sleaziness that plays a huge part in internet porn", I'd like to say that this sleaziness is to me the antithesis of erotic--in fact it repels even more than it repulses. Loving someone is essential to erotic feeling, at least for me. Obviously this is not so for everyone as the profusion of so many of the quite mean and nihilistic "erotic" sites seems to attest. So, for me too, I Shot Myself is a little haven. Thank you, again.

What I found so heartwarming and welcoming were the lovely comments, I enjoy reading them and you can tell that the members have put immense thought into their kind words. I'm glad to know that my work is so well received, it almost leaves me lost for words!

Ella, what you say about how you feel upon reading comments about your folios is mirrored by my feelings in the replies received. I'm always most thankful even just to know my comments have been read. Dialogue is so much nicer than monologue.

Hmm, it's not scheduled yet but as a general rule we wait a minimum of three months after your primary has gone up to publish your reload. We have lots of reloads and this way everybody gets an equal turn in the spotlight. We'll let you know when we've scheduled it . I'm a little tempted to post a couple of teaser pics here, stay tuned for the next couple of days!
