The main solution is to have women occupy 50% of the media spotlight, not 17%, (15 min talk) Geena started an institute to measure womens participation in Hollywood and I agree with her that media gender bias can have a huge impact on our subconscious which, if negative, I think can have a draining effect on our self esteem, especially as we're growing up.

I love Geena Davis- I see a problem in the world, boom, I'm going to create a way for me to gather empirical scientific evidence to prove that it's a problem. Then I'm going to change the world! And she will, I betcha.
One of the main points I thought she brought up was the need for dudes to be seeing it as a problem. I'm finding as the men of my age are having children (specifically when they have a girl-child) that that's when they start noticing this stuff as a problem. But really it should be a concern for all dudes.
It's more fun to play with an equal than a subordinate...
