To go boldly backwards

After all the great womens rolls in star trek voyager it's a real disappointment that in the new movies women are marginalised leaving mostly guys in the action. When in real life stuff happens to, and life decisions are made by, both sexes.

The result of this constant media skewing of reality is that without a second thought, when I 1st read about this story I assumed the person was male, and would have continued with that assumption until I saw this link http://www.news.com.au/technology/smart … 6646932266

So we have propaganda that results in the hiding of female achievement and the result is discovered by research http://womenslawproject.wordpress.com/2 … e-leaders/

Re: To go boldly backwards

I found a blog post here talking about the representation of women in the newest Star Trek movie.

Re: To go boldly backwards

Thanks, it's pretty bad isn't it.

In a new TV series the only person I wanna see from the trek movies is Simon peg without the awful hogmanay accent.

And I want the captain to be a woman.

If we can fly a space craft to mars and make a bullseye landing with no-one on board in 2004, what are the 1000 people on the enterprise doing at their workstations. They're not watching porn all day smile They're not calibrating the dilithium containment field, they don't need too. The only thing I can think of is that in the future, when machines can do everything and with nothing for humans left to do,  procrastinating is elevated to such a high art form, that by the 24th century a crew of 1000 procrastinators is thought so necessary that the enterprise can't function without them smile
