I infer he is obliged to do the radio broadcast because the organizers want him to do it.

Paranoid I don't know what you mean. He's just blowing the whistle on a bad experience.
They take $16 million from the audience plus sponsor money and for the ticket price of $8000 the audience need access to the speakers so that's OK, but it just sounds like the organisers have to chill a little.

I thought he went to the radio show as part of the conference, but he's only commenting on his experience there. The subject of his talk looks really interesting. It's on youtube.
