ARTISTS STATEMENT
From the moment we learn to use the internet, we're bombarded with images of women in compromising, uncomfortable and often degrading positions. Doing this shoot helped me to understand how liberating it can be to take the camera into your own hands. It's amazing how beautiful any kind of body can look when it's calm and comfortable, and I loved being a part of this celebration of empowerment. I first chose to take part in this project as a bit of a dare, but since then I have discovered the joy of being the artist, director and photographer of my own shoot, and I hope that each picture reflects this new found ease and pride.
