ARTISTS STATEMENT

I find I Shot Myself an interesting and slightly controversial project. To many empowering to others perhaps uncomfortable waters to splash around in. I find it important to have a unbiased view point with all things in life, and I'm glad I Shot Myself was one of them. For those that seems to concern exploitation with the project i fail to see, as i feel I Shot Myself empowers you by giving you the creative power to produce your own photo shoot. This makes you the artist, the model and the photographer, creating whatever it is that you invisioned and giving you a nudge to be that little bit daring, just incase you like what might happen. Whilst FECK is a silent partner in the project i would not have thought about my body, my sexuality or the power that it can have in the way I did whilst being a part of I Shot Myself. For me, it helped engage sexuality with art in which I had not had a chance to do beforehand. I find it important that sites like this exist, looking at sexuality from a personal human mind-frame.
