ARTISTS STATEMENT

I feel like being naked is the most natural state we can be in, yet the most judged. Can you imagine say a police officer running only off their ego if they had to strip down first? I love being naked, but it took me a long time to be comfortable with that due to the society I've grown up in. I want to see a world where no one feels ashamed to take off their clothes, it would be nice if we started celebrating people for who they are rather than who they are not. Being naked doesn't have to be a sexual thing, in fact it isn't, it's simply a state of being without material draped over us. It is insane that a male can walk around topless yet when a female does it, BAM, sexual. This is a problem I think with society, not with the individual. A naked body is a beautiful thing that is appreciated and accepted when we are young, but as we start to get older we are told that we are indecent if we show our skin. To say being naked is indecent is to say every single person is indecent. I've never met anyone who isn't naked under their clothes. I want to start appreciating everybody's body as if they were trees, all different, yet all beautiful each in their own individual way.
